Sullivan Boys Baseball

West Brothers Chevy announced today it will be investing support in Sullivan through a partnership with Sullivan Boys Baseball Association.  West Brothers will provide baseball equipment, instructional clinics, a monetary donation, and an opportunity to raise an additional $10,000 in funds through a Chevy vehicle giveaway-fundraiser.  The effort by West Brothers is part of the Chevy Youth Baseball initiative sweeping the nation from March through July 2010.

“Chevrolet has a long history with baseball at the national level.  We wanted to bring that excitement and commitment to youth baseball, in the communities where our customers and their families live,” said Laury West, President of West Brothers. “Youth baseball has always played an important role in Sullivan so we are thrilled to support our kids in a meaningful way.”

West Brothers will present Sullivan Boys Baseball Association with equipment kits complete with equipment bags, baseball buckets, dry-erase coach’s clipboards and Chevy Youth Baseball t-shirts at a kick-off bar-b-que at their dealership on May 1st.  Visit www.westbrothers.com and view pictures of the Kick-Off bar-b-que and presentation to the Sullivan Youth Baseball League.  (Pictures available after May 1st)

In addition, a one-time $500 donation check will be presented by West Brothers to Sullivan Boys Baseball Association.  The league also will have an opportunity to raise additional funds for their use as part of a Chevy Youth Baseball Fundraiser.  Sullivan’s league will be selling 2,000 fundraiser entry tickets and they will keep 100% of proceeds raised.  At the end of the fundraiser, there will be five winners of a Chevy Equinox or Chevy Malibu.  Each participating market will also have a secondary prize of a home entertainment center valued at $1,000.

West Brothers also announced it is going to bat for youth baseball in Sullivan through Chevrolet’s “Building Diamonds and Dreams” program where communities across America can win a home field makeover.  West Brothers Chevrolet believes Sullivan could have a good shot at being one of the winners if enough residents go on-line to enter.

“This program is one more facet of our commitment to youth baseball programs across America," said Laury West, President of West Brothers. "Every kid wants and deserves a 'dream' baseball diamond and we have a chance to get it. We need our residents to go on-line and enter our community!"

To enter Sullivan, residents should go on-line to www.chevybaseball.com and enter 63080.  An ongoing tally of the most active ZIP codes will be shown on the web site.  Visit www.westbrothers.com and click on the link to Chevy’s Building Diamonds and Dreams and vote for Sullivan!  Five winners will be drawn from the ZIP codes submitted. Entering a ZIP code numerous times could increase the chance of being selected.  Chevrolet is partnered with The Scotts Company, MLB Advanced Media and Major League Baseball to kick start the program to coincide with MLB Opening Day (April 5) and continue through the MLB All-Star Game ending July 16, 2010.

“We have a chance to hit a home run for the kids if we can get enough folks to enter Sullivan,” said West.

Each consumer who enters their ZIP code on-line gives kids a chance to win a ballpark makeover, and will also have a chance to win a new Chevy Malibu, Traverse, Equinox or

Silverado.
